The Goldrush sounds like it would be a tough time. Can you imagine having to carry thousands of pounds of equipment and food through your whole journey? Can you imagine how tiring it would be to get there? I mean, of course you would get somewhat stronger, but not until after your muscles get stretched, pulled and more importantly, sore! Then there is always the chance that you could die on your way.
Another thing: How would you decide which route to take? Would you go with people you know, trust, and love? Would you pick the quickest way? But what if the quickest route is the toughest? That’s something that would take me a long time to decide.
I guess after all of that, you would eventually get through it all. You win your prize. After getting supplies, getting on your way, choosing routes, claiming land, staying alice and much more, you get what you want. After receiving your gold, you get to blow it all on finding a way home!

I am currently reading a book by Eoin Colfer called Artemis Fowl. My brother suggested I read it, and so I started reading it on the weekend and brought it to school with me. It is about a rich genious who is a master in commiting crimes. It runs in the family – commiting crimes – and his father did something to lose a lot of the money. I’m not too sure how or why, I might have to go back and read that part again.
Anyways, in this book, faries, gnomes and stuff like that exist and take part in underground life. Artemis Fowl tricks a farie and gets one of the special books that are not meant for Mud People – humans. So, he takes pictures of all the pages and then translates the words from Gnommish to English. His butler and his butler’s sister help as well.
Then, there is a farie from underground named Holly Short. She is part of the Recon and is taking part in a mission to stop a troll from causing havoc in the world of the Mud People – above ground. She stops the Troll, but not before he trashes a restaurant. So, Holly has to “brain wash” the Mud People in the restaurant and block off the holes and doorways so no one can get in until the damage is fixed completely.
What I think is going to happen is, Artemis is going to find Holly when she is above ground finishing business because Artemis found out information about the faries that has to do with them being above ground near an ancient oak and a specail body of water. So, with Butler’s help, I think that they will find Holly and then something else will happen that I have not yet predicted.
There is a whole series, and I hope I get to finish them all soon!

Well, my dog, Sadie, is a Miniature Schnauzer and she used to be just perfect. Until it happened.
One day, I came to my mom’s farm from school. Just a normal day until I looked at Sadie. I stared, gawking at her. She was TOTALLY shaved. Nothing but less of an inch of fur. I feel bad saying this, but, she looks scary now. She just does not look right. It’s not the fluffy Sadie I used to know! Her eyes looked dark – I am talking about the fur around them – and there is an almost black stripe running up her nose. She doesn’t have a mustache anymore, and her big eyebrows are basically all gone. It was depressing. But, the upside to this is that she is shiny and very soft. She is easier to bathe and dry. Right after you towl-dry her, she is dried completely. At least this way you don’t have to deal with a soggy doggy. So, I guess it’s pretty much even on both sides. I still love her, no matter what. She’s still my little cuddly-yet-vicious puppy. =3

In my opinion and my opinion only, I would rather be a bird in the sky. The reason for my answer is because birds naturally have more freedom. Fish, on the other hand, have boundaries such as certain territories of other, larger fish. Some territories could be closer to the top of the ocean, or closer to the bottom of the ocean, whereas birds can fly high in the sky, away from almost anything and/or land and walk around on the earth’s surface. The bird’s only boundaries are the very edges of the earth – which is a nice, huge space – or buildings, which wouldn’t be much of a problem. Birds can also escape from humans pretty easily, while fish can be caught by lots of others.
Also, I would prefer to be a large bird, like an eagle or a hawk, as I would be closer to the top of the food chain and I wouldn’t have many chances o being caught/killed by humans or other animals. Even with fish, people like to catch sharks or kill whales. Another week point for fish would be limitations of movement. Fish can’t move backwards; they would drown. Sharks can’t stay still they will drown, also. Birds are free to move in any direction freely.
One thing that fish seem to over rule birds with is catching food. Birds have a little less stuff to catch, though larger birds like an eagle – which I would like to be – can catch smaller birds or animals. For fish, they can eat and catch things like bacteria, algae, or any other sort of small bugs that are just floating around in the water. Larger fish can also eat smaller fish as well, but over all, I would love to be a bird that can fly freely, and feel the sense of nature at it’s full force. Therefore, case closed.

In the first few weeks, it was alright. I was trying to get used to being the head honcho of the school, and now it feels nice to know that. Although, I was mad when I found out that the grade 7’s get to go to home arts AND to top it all off, they go FIRST! But, other than that, I have liked the past few weeks and I have a feeling this year will be a great year – especially with Mr. McIntosh as a grade 8 teacher. I sure hope I have a good grade 8 experience!!
